School Superheroes Save The School

On Tuesday 5th November, Just after Wake and Shake, Mrs Griffiths came running in to the hall in a fluster!  She had been sent a copy of the local newspaper, with the Headline "School Scoundrel Strikes Again!"

The article outlined an attack on a local school over half term.  "The playground was cracked and cratered, the paint frozen, library books burnt and pencils chopped in two!"

The teachers and children leapt into action straight away and identified that this super villain had super powers! The children thought of their own super powers to help stop the 'School Scoundrel' in his steps!  The children thought of their own superhero name to match their super powers!

A strange message was piped through the schools sound system -

"Hello Kiddies, Dr Dunce here.  Hopefully by now you've heard about the clever tricks I've been playing on schools nearby.  I never enjoyed school when I was young so what I've done is just pay back.  You'll never stop me, Ha Ha HA"

The children were astonished that Dr Dunce didn't like school, but after talking about what school might have been like for Dr Dunce, they realised that school was very different to how it is now.

An e-mail then arrived at the school with an eyewitness description of the 'School Scoundrel' "The man was described as being about 1 and a half metres tall.  Dressed in black with a tall black hat.  He had a large chin, arching black eyebrows, a hooked nose and an extremely long curling moustache"

The children created a picture of the villain based on this description to help identify him.

A wanted postered came through to the school shortly after, revealing the identity of the supervillain.

It was lunchtime then and time to recharge our superhero powers!

After lunch the children designed masks to hide their secret identities and created a logo for their chest or their superhero cape to become their superhero alteregos.

At the end of the day the superhero squad at Glebe Infant School Assembled to here a final message from dr Dunce "Dr Dunce here again, I've caught wind of what you've been up to.  Seems to me that school has changed a lot since I was a boy, maybe it's not so bad after all.  You've really inspired me to change my ways, you never know I might even become a teacher and use my powers for good.  Ta ta for now kiddies"

The Glebe Superheroes had saved the day!!!!!

Just then Mrs Jones came rushing in and told us all that the newspaper was tricked by someone into publishing the Dr Dunce story and they had worked out it had all been a clever trick played by someone!

The children were relieved but had had a 'Super' day solving the problem and becoming the very best superhero they could be!
