Documents to support returning to school
Below are some documents which may be helpful in supporting your child when they return to school. School is going to be very different to the one they left in March but the all the members of staff are really excited to see them and will do everything they can to support them over the coming days and weeks. The children are going to do a lot of work initially sharing their experiences, their concerns and worries and we have a wealth of resources to help them should they need it.

During home learning we are using the internet more and more to support us. The internet, if used responsibly, is a fantastic tool providing us with a wealth of education at a click of a button, however, some very unkind, scary people also use the internet to try and trick us into unsafe territories. To ensure we are safe online please make sure you have parental locks, parental supervision and know that site/game your child is on is age appropriate.

Below are some websites that can help you stay safe on the web.

· Internet matters - for support for parents and carers to keep their children safe online

· South West Grid for Learning - for support for parents and carers to keep their children safe online

· Net-aware - for support for parents and careers from the NSPCC

· Parent info - for support for parents and carers to keep their children safe online

· Thinkuknow - for advice from the National Crime Agency to stay safe online · UK Safer Internet Centre - advice for parents and carers

Bug Club & TT Rockstars

Bug Club is an online tool which provides reading books that children can access at home.  Staff will allocate books according to your child’s reading level and these can be found in the ‘My Stuff’ area of their personal homepage. This reading can also be recorded in your child’s reading record and count towards their reading for the week. A key benefit of Bug Club is that every book has comprehension questions embedded within the text, which helps children reflect on what they are reading.

You can log on to Bug Club via https://www.activelearnprimary.co.uk/login?c=0
